About Brenda
I am a dedicated BS Psychology student with experience tutoring elementary students in a patient, supportive, and approachable manner. I have been tutoring a Grade 4 student since Grade 3, giving me hands-on experience in helping young learners understand their lessons and build confidence in their abilities.
I believe that effective tutoring goes beyond simply giving answers. I take the time to understand what a student finds difficult, explain concepts in a way they can easily understand, and provide guidance and practice when needed. I can also prepare study guides, drills, and review materials based on the student's lessons.
My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace. As a tutor, I strive to be someone students can trust and look up to as their approachable “ate.”

My teaching approach is conversational, patient, and student-centered. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes while learning. Rather than being overly strict, I try to be an approachable “ate” who guides and encourages them throughout the lesson.
I explain lessons using simple, relatable examples and encourage students to participate through questions and discussion. When materials are provided in advance, I can also prepare study guides, practice questions, and drills based on their lessons and upcoming assessments.

I currently have 1 year experience tutoring an elementary student and have developed patience and familiarity in working with children. I aim to create a friendly environment where students can learn without feeling intimidated while gradually becoming more confident and independent.
I primarily cater to elementary students and can also accommodate high school students, depending on the subject. For high school lessons, I prefer receiving their learning materials in advance so I can prepare appropriately for the topic.
