About Jia

Hello Learners ! My name is Jia, and I am passionate about teaching and empowering students to reach their full potential. With extensive tutoring experience across multiple subjects, I have had the privilege of guiding students from nursery through Grade 12 (ICSE and CBSE curricula), helping them develop a strong academic foundation. In addition to English, I have taught Science, Mathematics, Social Sciences, and Shakespearean Literature, offering a well-rounded educational experience. I aim to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills in all subjects, tailoring lessons to meet each student's learning style and needs. I also served as a coordinator for the Junior Youth Empowerment Program, where I guided students in developing leadership abilities and critical thinking. My approach to teaching is centered around creating an engaging and supportive environment, where every student feels encouraged to explore, learn, and grow.

Outside of teaching, I am an avid reader, particularly of psychological thrillers, and enjoy journaling and writing. I also love exploring social media trends and photography, which helps me stay creative and connected with the world around me. Additionally, I’m passionate about traveling and experiencing new cultures, which continuously enriches my teaching perspective.

About the lesson

I believe that every student has the potential to succeed, and my goal is to make learning an enjoyable and stress-free experience. I take a student-centered approach in every lesson, tailoring my teaching methods to suit your unique learning style. Whether you're struggling with English grammar, Maths, Science, or Social Science, I aim to break down complex concepts into manageable parts, making them easier to understand.

I use a combination of interactive teaching techniques, including practice exercises, real-world examples, and visual aids, to ensure that learning is both effective and engaging. I believe that learning doesn’t need to be boring, so I incorporate a variety of methods to keep you engaged and motivated throughout the lesson.

Each lesson typically lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your needs. We’ll start with a brief review of previous concepts, followed by the introduction of new material, and finish with exercises and discussions to reinforce what you’ve learned. I’ll also provide you with homework or extra practice to help you continue learning outside of class.

I’m a psychology student with years of experience tutoring English grammar and other subjects like Maths, Science, and Social Science. Having been a high school student myself, I understand the challenges you may face and can offer guidance that is both empathetic and practical. I’ve also tutored students from various academic backgrounds, so I’m comfortable working with students at different levels.

My lessons are designed for high school students or those in primary levels who want to improve their skills in English grammar, Maths, Science, and Social Science. Whether you’re aiming to boost your grades or just need extra support, I’ll work with you to help you achieve your academic goals.
