About Yashvi
Hi! I’m Yashvi, a Psychology student at the University of Melbourne, and I genuinely love learning about how people think, behave and interact with the world around them.
I achieved 98.5% in my school board exams and have always enjoyed turning complicated topics into something easier to understand. I’ve also conducted independent Psychology research and have a published research paper on the misrepresentation of OCD in film and television.
I have previous experience teaching Psychology to students too. Whether you’re struggling with a particular concept, want help structuring essays, or just need someone to make revision a little less overwhelming, I’m happy to work at your pace.
I’m friendly, patient and approachable, and I want my lessons to feel like a space where you can ask questions without worrying about getting something wrong. I tutor VCE/high school Psychology and Sociology students, as well as first-year university students, and I’ll always try to make the subject feel as interesting and manageable as possible.

My approach to tutoring is simple: I want students to actually understand concepts, rather than just memorize them for an exam. I break down difficult Psychology and Sociology topics into clear explanations, real-life examples and relatable scenarios, while using questions and discussion to check understanding.
I tailor each lesson to the student’s coursework and areas they find challenging. We can work through concepts, essay questions, practice questions, study strategies and exam preparation depending on what they need. I also encourage students to explain concepts back to me, as teaching something is often the best way to know you truly understand it!
Lessons are typically 1 hour, but I am happy to adjust the length depending on the student’s needs and goals.
I am currently studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology at the University of Melbourne. I achieved 98.5% in my school board examinations and have previous experience teaching Psychology to students. I have also conducted independent Psychology research and have a published research paper on the representation of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder in film and television.
My lessons are mainly for VCE or high school Psychology and Sociology students, as well as first-year university Psychology or Sociology students. I aim to make classes supportive, interactive and tailored to each student’s learning style and level.
