About Phuong Nguyen

I'm an undergraduate studying Psychology at the National University of Singapore, and teaching is one of the most rewarding parts of my week. I enjoy helping students develop confidence in their abilities, especially when a difficult concept finally makes sense and they can explain it in their own words.

My passion for teaching has been shaped by years of working with children through community projects and clinical settings. I have mentored children in shelters, volunteered in pediatric wards, and led hands-on science and creative learning activities for young students.

I bring that same patience and encouragement to every lesson. While I am committed to helping students improve their academic performance, my goal is also to help them become more confident, independent learners. I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and discovering that they are capable of more than they thought.

About the lesson

My lessons focus on building genuine understanding rather than memorisation. I begin by getting to know each student's strengths and identifying the areas they find challenging, then tailor each lesson to their learning pace and needs. As a Psychology student, I have a strong interest in how people learn most effectively, and I apply those principles to make lessons engaging and meaningful.

Each session typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes. We review previous concepts, work through new material with clear explanations and guided examples, and finish with practice questions to reinforce learning and check understanding. I create a supportive and relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.

I offer tutoring for Secondary school students in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Natural Science. Whether your goal is to strengthen your foundation, improve confidence, keep up with schoolwork, or prepare for upcoming exams, I will adapt my teaching to help you achieve steady and lasting progress.
