About Rachel
Hi! My name is Rachel, and I hope to be able to share my love of public speaking with you. Years ago, when I first began speaking, I didn't do so willingly- my mom made me! I begged her to let me quit. But as time went on, I found my voice, and I discovered how thrilling it was to speak on subjects I was truly passionate about, and see the impact my words had on people. With 6 years of experience in competitive speech & debate, a championship title, and dozens of awards in various different speech categories, I know I can help you become a confident speaker- a skill that will help you in every area of your life.

With over 6 years of experience in writing, memorizing, and speaking in public in a competitive setting, I offer a unique coaching experience for middle schoolers and high schoolers looking to expand upon their public speaking skills.
My lesson plans cover:
-Writing: How to express your ideas and articulate them clearly
-Rhetoric: Using techniques like metaphors and analogies to keep your audience engaged and increase the impact of your words
-Persuasion: How to create an effective argument to sway others to see your point of view
-Delivery: appropriate pacing, body language, and elocution to keep your audience engaged
-Editing: How to edit your speech and make adjustments to help your words flow
-Impromptu: How to "fake it 'till you make it"- intentionally
Aside from half a dozen years in a competitive speaking environment, I have earned dozens of awards over the years in various different speeches, including a national championship title from the national league STOA. I have experience in informative oratories, persuasive speaking, impromptu speaking, and debate. I coach/tutor middle schoolers and high schoolers at any or no level of previous experience.
