About Sa'Renay
Hello wonderful people — a poet, music lover, and proud author of Makeup Only Looks Ugly When You Cry, which I published during my senior year of high school. Writing and poetry have always been my safe place — a way to turn feelings into something beautiful. Music inspires my rhythm, and life inspires my words.
As a young writer myself, I understand how intimidating it can be to put your work out into the world. That’s why I teach in a way that’s encouraging, down-to-earth, and creative. I want my students to feel comfortable expressing themselves, experimenting with words, and building confidence in their voice — whether they’re writing for school, for fun, or for publication.

I’m the author of Makeup Only Looks Ugly When You Cry, a debut poetry collection I wrote and published during my senior year of high school. My passion for words runs deep, and I love helping others discover the power of their own voice.
In my lessons, students will learn how to:
•Write vivid, original poetry that resonates with readers
•Develop a unique voice through tone, imagery, and rhythm
•Master poetic devices like metaphor, simile, alliteration, and symbolism
•Edit and refine their work for clarity, flow, and emotional impact
•Build writing discipline and overcome creative blocks
•Prepare for publication or contests, if desired
Whether you’re just starting out or want to take your writing to the next level, I offer a supportive, engaging space to explore creativity while learning real, practical skills.
