About Abirami
My passion for English developed primarily because of books. I've come to realise that the habit of reading books has gone down in young children a lot. Apart from helping you develop your language skills, books can provide whole new avenues for you to explore. The very core of my classes are aimed at encouraging children to read more.
I've been teaching English at an NGO for the past two years and have gained the necessary skills to connect with students and teach what is appropriate for them, at a pace that is comfortable for them.

A typical one hour class will cover aspects of reading comprehension and fluency, speaking, writing and listening. I aim to cover these skills in order to provide a holistic approach to learning of the language. The classes are intended for school children aged 6-14. I'm open to teaching students in grades 10-12 as well. The classes will complement what is being taught at school while providing additional content which is not covered in their school curriculum so as to kindle their interest and love for the language.
Classes will follow a general structure that can be altered to suit the level the child is at.
