About Tiantian

I am a certified teacher of Chinese as a Foreign Language from the Confucius Institute. In China, I am also licensed by the Chinese Ministry of Education to teach foreign languages in high school. Here in Germany I've studied Sinology and completed my first degree in English Education in China. Most students from Germany learn Chinese for work, but over time there are also increasing inquiries about courses in preparation for or accompanying courses. Otherwise, the demand from teenagers and young adults has also increased. Many students came up with recommendations. In spite of foreign remote learning on the Internet, the learning results have been always positive.

About the lesson

I have been working as a language teacher for over 10 years and also teach online for over 4 years. That is why I developed an effective method in the area of blended learning / online learning. My classes are practical and I really value communication. I am very strongly influenced and convinced of the so-called "direct method" (total immersion) in Chinese classes. That is, students learn Chinese with me right from the start. They hear and understand the language, read from facial expressions and body language and simply imitate situations. You are totally immersed in a real Chinese setting. I like to do without the grammar translation method and avoid using German or English as the language of instruction. However, one method is always dependent on the learning objectives: When the students prepare for an examination, such as HSK, HSKK, YCT or BCT, I also work with other specific didactics and strategies so that the grades can be guaranteed. So I offer flexibility in the application of the methods and didactics depending on what the learning goals are. Regarding online learning: digital learning can be fun and efficient. I am very convinced of the "flipped classroom" concept. Roughly said: Students become teachers. You will actively compile various resources on the Internet under my controlled supervision and work towards your learning goals. The students always have alternate tasks for me, e.g. sound recordings, interviews with native speakers or preparing for a presentation on a topic, etc.
