About Lowe

Lowe Kruger is a fully qualified Math teacher with over 31 years of teaching experience in South African government schools as well as private schools, the latter, following the curriculum that allows learners to write the Independent Examination Board exams at the end of grade 12. Lowe is a South African trained educator with an Honors Bachelor Education Degree in Educational Organization and Law and a Higher Education Diploma in Mathematics. He was fortitude to spend two and a half years teaching Mathematics abroad, in China using the International Baccalaureate curriculum, Southern Australian Curriculum in Education (SACE) and Cambridge (IGCSE – A & O levels).

About the lesson

Lowe describes his teaching style in the following way “I am a well-educated and dynamic teacher who is respected by pupils, parents and staff. I love my subject and this love is reflected in the many hours put in to promote Mathematics. I have excellent educational, communicative and computer skills and my knowledge and experience of the various fields of academics, administration, sport and cultural activities gives me the opportunity to lead by example. I have gained valuable experience teaching in a technological rich environment, making use of interactive white boards, tablets for students and the combination of technology, content and pedagogy to enhance effective learning. Staying abreast with international trends I am using the 21st century approach, incorporating the skills through the teaching of math, namely: critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, motivation and meta-cognition. I follow a learner centered approach when teaching math and understand the importance to establish professional learning communities as to interact with fellow educators, worldwide. The internet and different apps available allows for international classrooms and interactions with the best”.
