About Chloe
I am a qualified teacher, currently teaching German at Cardiff University. As well as this, I have 10 years experience of teaching languages in schools and privately - children, adults, individual and group lessons.
Growing up in the UK and being half German, I was very motivated to learn German as a child. I went on to study German and Spanish at Cardiff University, gaining a first class honours degree. Having studied and worked in German and Spanish speaking countries, I'm fluent in both languages. I've had some great personal and professional opportunities from my languages and love sharing my knowledge and strategies for learning.
Fun fact: I'm currently teaching myself Welsh!

I'm a warm and patient teacher, and strive to ensure my students enjoy our lessons and make fast progress. In our initial free consultation, I'll talk to you and/or your child to ascertain what you want to achieve and will devise a programme of study based on this. My background in teaching means that I am skilled at planning high quality, focussed lessons that aim for fast and sustained progress.
I'm keen to bring language alive for my students. I get to know you/your child to find personalised and relevant materials in the target language. I use these materials to work on speaking, listening, reading, writing and translation whilst also teaching grammar.

Perfect! Chloe is an excellent tutor. She is kind, friendly and supportive but also provides well structured, planned lessons. Chloe is also reliable and flexible when lessons need to be changed. Ben has really enjoyed his time with Chloe doing A-level German and even continued through the summer. Also the online lessons worked well. Ben started face to face but then switched to online which has been fine.

I’ve recently had some beginner German lessons with Chloe as I want to speak with my German girlfriends family. She’s such a good tutor and has helped me to feel calm and confident when speaking. I’m already getting the hang of the basics and practicing lots. Chloe has been great in understanding how I learn and we play lots of games and sing really catchy songs which I find so helpful! Thanks Chloe looking forward to our lessons every week!
