I got some lessons with Reuben to help with my songwriting, as I'm originally a keys player but wanted some guitar on my songs. He helped me understand the fretboard and where I can play different chord voicings and extensions. He put great emphases on the fact that the guitar is brilliant for adding texture to songs and he showed me many different ways of getting unique sounds, not just strumming. Highly recommend!

As a 55 year old I was worried that I would struggle to learn and I put it off for years. A friend of mine recommended Reuben and I decided to finally give lessons a go, and I'm so glad I did! Reuben was very patient and let me take my time and taught me a great mix of theory and songs. Lots of lessons online brush over crucial theory knowledge that actually makes the guitar so much easier to understand, so I'm very glad Reuben cleared up some of the mystery about the guitar.

Reuben Sceats taught our son to play the guitar for just over a year. In that time, he made incredible progress. Reuben made the lessons fun and helped Arlo to play songs he wanted to learn, encouraging him to break it down into smaller sections to learn, allowing even a beginner to tackle more complex pieces than is often the norm. While focusing on the practical skills, Reuben also seamlessly incorporated some basic theory and exposed him to different styles, techniques and equipment. Reuben is friendly and approachable, which put Arlo at ease but he still kept the lessons on track. He gave Arlo the skills to advance his own learning.
