About Nichola
I am an experienced English teacher who has been teaching in an outstanding school for over five years. I have experience across Key Stage three, GCSE Language and Literature and A Level Literature.
I have experience teaching a wide range of abilities, from supporting students with additional needs to stretching and challenging gifted and talented pupils. In the past, several of my pupils have achieved a grade 9 in the GCSE exams.
I like to make my lessons engaging and use a wide range of strategies to make my lessons creative and interesting. I pride myself on the quality of my feedback to ensure pupils make excellent progress.
In addition to my responsibilities as classroom teacher, I am also literacy coordinator for my school. This means that I have a secure knowledge of the SPaG requirements for the exam and can support students in develop their readings and writing skills, providing them with tools they can use to improve their work. I am also an examiner for AQA for English Literature which has given me an excellent insight into the exam specification and how to best support students to demonstrate the required skills in the exam.
I am a friendly, professional and committed teacher who will endeavour to help my pupils achieve their full potential in a nurturing and supportive manner.
