About Candice
Hello! I’m Candice Steytler, a qualified educator with a BA in English, History, and Geography (History honors), iPGCE, and TEFL certification. I have over 8 years of teaching experience, having taught learners in the UK, South Africa, and China, both online and in-person.
I am passionate about helping learners build confidence, develop curiosity, and achieve their goals. I strive to make every lesson engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable, celebrating progress along the way. My approach to teaching English as a Second Language is personalised, supportive, and interactive. I tailor lessons to each learner’s level, interests, and learning style, combining conversation practice, reading, writing, and listening exercises to build all-round language skills. I focus on developing confidence, fluency, and practical communication, using real-life contexts to make learning meaningful and engaging.
Lessons include structured objectives, regular feedback, and activities designed to encourage participation and progress. I teach primarily in English but take learners’ first languages into account to ensure clarity and understanding. My lessons are suitable for beginners through advanced students, including adults, business English learners, and young learners.
