About Irina

I am a professional and passionate language tutor with a Master's degree from Charles University in Prague. With several years of teaching experience, I have had the opportunity to work with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, both in individual and group settings. I specialize in teaching English and Russian, and I tailor each lesson to suit the student's goals—whether it's improving communication skills, preparing for an exam, or building confidence in a professional context. I am patient, well-organized, and always focused on helping students progress steadily and enjoyably. You can be confident that your lessons will be structured, engaging, and effective, with clear objectives and continuous support. I truly believe in creating a motivating environment where each student feels seen, heard, and encouraged. Learning a language can be a challenging journey, but with the right guidance, it becomes an exciting and rewarding experience. I am here to help you reach your goals step by step.

About the lesson

My teaching method is based on the communicative approach, which means that speaking and real-life language use are at the heart of every lesson. I aim to create a relaxed and engaging atmosphere where students feel comfortable to make mistakes and learn from them. I also adapt my techniques depending on the learner’s goals—whether it’s improving general fluency, preparing for exams, or developing professional language skills.

A typical lesson follows a three-stage structure:

1) Presentation – I introduce new vocabulary or grammar in context using real-life examples or short texts.

2) Practice – We work through targeted exercises to reinforce accuracy and understanding, both written and spoken.

3) Production – The student actively uses the new language in personalized speaking or writing tasks (e.g. discussions, role plays, opinion sharing, mini-presentations).
I often include additional elements like short videos, realia, and authentic materials to make lessons relevant and dynamic.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my broad international experience—I have worked with learners from all over the world and understand the different challenges that various language backgrounds may bring. I hold a Master's degree from Charles University, and I focus not only on language accuracy but also on cultural understanding and learner autonomy.

My lessons are designed for teens and adults aged 15 to 70, from A1 to C1 level. I teach both individual students and groups, and I tailor lessons to each learner’s pace and goals.

I strive to make each lesson purposeful, enjoyable, and empowering.
