About Scott
As a qualified mechanical engineering graduate currently pursuing advanced specializations in marine engineering, I offer my students a rare combination of rigorous academic mastery and real-world technical expertise. Having successfully completed the demanding curriculum of a full mechanical engineering degree, I possess a deep, comprehensive understanding of advanced mathematics, structural mechanics, fluid networks, and complex thermodynamic systems. My ongoing transition into the maritime sector means I spend my days analyzing massive industrial machinery and dynamic thermal processes, allowing me to bring unique practical insights and exceptional clarity to every tutoring session.
My mission as an online mentor is to help university students confidently navigate intense STEM and engineering "filter" courses that often feel overwhelming. Because I have walked this exact academic pathway and excelled, I know precisely how examiners structure their assessments and where students typically lose vital marks. I treat every student’s academic goals with the utmost professionalism, breaking down intimidating multi-variable calculus and physics laws into logical, step-by-step frameworks. Together, we will build your technical intuition, perfect your calculation methods, and ensure you approach your exams with absolute confidence.

My teaching methodology is built on an engineer's approach to problem-solving: structured, highly visual, and entirely systematic. I specialize in breaking down intimidating, multi-variable university courses into manageable, step-by-step logic. We don't just memorize formulas; we focus heavily on building your core technical intuition so you understand exactly why a specific thermodynamic process, fluid dynamics equation, or calculus sequence behaves the way it does.
Every online session is fully optimized for digital learning. I utilize a high-fidelity digital whiteboard where we map out complex engineering schematics, isolate variables, and solve multi-step problems together in real time. To ensure absolute precision and eliminate exam-day anxiety, I enforce a strict structural discipline in our calculations. We meticulously verify calculation sequences to catch easily avoidable formatting errors before they cost you marks on your exams.
Whether you are preparing for intense university engineering midterms, tackling rigorous technical assignments, or trying to conquer complex STEM "filter" courses, our lessons will be structured entirely around your university's specific curriculum and pacing. You will walk away from every session with clean, orderly notes, a reliable problem-solving framework, and the absolute confidence needed to master your coursework.
