About Bianca

Hello! I’m Bianca, a qualified B.Ed Intermediate Phase teacher from South Africa with over six years of classroom teaching experience and a TEFL qualification. Teaching has always been something I genuinely enjoy, and I love helping children discover that learning can be something they feel excited and confident about rather than something they find stressful.

Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with learners of different ages, abilities and learning styles. This has taught me the importance of being patient, adaptable and understanding that every student learns in their own unique way. My lessons are relaxed, interactive and personalised, with a strong focus on building confidence alongside academic skills.

I am able to teach in both English and Afrikaans and offer support in English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and general primary-school work. My main focus is on learners from Grades 1–7 who may need additional support, want to improve their skills, or simply benefit from having a little extra guidance and encouragement.

As a teacher, I believe that a strong relationship with my students is just as important as the work we do in our lessons. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and trying again without feeling embarrassed. My goal is always to meet each learner where they are, celebrate their progress and help them realise what they are capable of achieving.

Outside of teaching, I’m a proud mum to my little boy, Ivan, and I enjoy spending time with my family, our dogs and being outdoors. I’m looking forward to getting to know you and helping you reach your learning goals!

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centred around making learning enjoyable, encouraging and meaningful. As a qualified B.Ed Intermediate Phase teacher with over six years of classroom experience and a TEFL qualification, I understand that every child learns differently. I therefore adapt my lessons to each student's individual level, learning style, personality and goals rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

I use a combination of active learning, enquiry-based learning and project-based learning to keep students involved in their own learning. I believe children learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and trying new things, so I create a relaxed and supportive environment where they can build both their academic skills and their confidence.

I offer tutoring in English and Afrikaans, as well as academic support in subjects such as Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and general primary-school work. I am particularly passionate about helping children who need extra support with English or Afrikaans, or who simply need someone to make a challenging subject easier to understand.

A typical lesson with me will depend on the student's needs. We may work through schoolwork or homework, practise a particular skill, revise for an assessment, read together, work on comprehension and vocabulary, or use games, questions and practical activities to reinforce a concept. I aim to make every lesson interactive rather than simply talking at the student.

My lessons are mainly aimed at primary-school learners, particularly Grades 1–7, but I am happy to work with students of different ages and abilities depending on their individual needs. Whether your child needs extra academic support, wants to improve their language skills, or simply needs a little more confidence in the classroom, my goal is to help them feel capable, supported and proud of their progress.

I am proficient in both English and Afrikaans and can teach comfortably in either language. Most importantly, I genuinely care about my students and want them to enjoy learning. I believe that with the right encouragement and teaching approach, every child has the ability to thrive.
