About Leah

Hello! I’m a qualified primary school teacher with over two years of classroom experience and more than 10 years of experience working and volunteering with children. I have a First Class BSc Psychology Degree and a PGCE with QTS ages 5-11, which give me a strong foundation for understanding both how children learn and how to support their development. I have experience supporting EAL (English as an additional language) students. I understand that every child is unique, and that’s why I place great importance on building a strong rapport from the very first session. I want every student to feel comfortable, valued, and confident enough to ask questions and enjoy the learning process.

About the lesson

My approach is built on creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. I celebrate small wins, build resilience, and help children see mistakes as learning opportunities. Every child is different, so I take a child-centred approach, tailoring each lesson to your child’s needs, learning style, and pace. Where possible, I aspire to adapt activities to the interests and abilities of each learner to boost motivation and confidence. I offer Maths and English lessons to children in Years 2-6 and can include SATs preparation, 11+, catch-up support or confidence-building. 1:1 lessons typically last 50 minutes. I offer a lesson summary and optional homework following the lesson. I am a Primary School Teacher in Worcester with recent experience teaching in years 3 and 5. Additionally, I have 3 years of experience tutoring primary and secondary aged children.

Our first meeting (a free 45-minute session) is an opportunity for me to get to know you (or your child). We will discuss and assess learning goals, learning style and interests. This helps me design a personalized lesson plan that best suits your needs. During this session, we’ll also discuss how the lessons will work, confirm availability, and I’ll answer any questions you may have. Together, we’ll choose the most effective learning approach.
