About Tabitha

Hi, I'm Tabitha! I'm a qualified primary teacher who has recently completed my PGCE, and I love helping children feel more confident and capable in their learning.

Throughout my teacher training, I gained experience across both KS1 and KS2, with a particular focus on Year 1. This gave me lots of experience supporting children with early reading, phonics, writing and developing their communication skills, as well as adapting lessons to suit different abilities and learning needs.

I believe that English should feel exciting and accessible rather than something children feel they have to be "good at". I enjoy finding creative ways to make reading, writing and phonics engaging, while giving children the encouragement they need to have a go and make mistakes without feeling embarrassed.

I'm a warm, patient and nurturing teacher, and I take the time to get to know each child as an individual. Whether they need help with their phonics, are working towards their SATs, or simply need a little extra confidence with English, I'll tailor my lessons around what works best for them.

My goal is to help children not only make progress, but genuinely enjoy using English and feel proud of what they can achieve.

About the lesson

I offer personalised English tuition for children from the early years through to Year 6, adapting each lesson to suit your child's age, ability and individual needs.

I can support with:

* Phonics & early reading – letter sounds, blending, segmenting, tricky words and building reading confidence.
* Reading & comprehension – developing fluency, understanding texts, retrieving information, inference and answering questions.
* Writing – sentence structure, vocabulary, creative writing, story writing and developing ideas.
* Spelling, punctuation & grammar – building strong foundations and improving accuracy.
* SATs preparation – targeted support with Year 6 reading, grammar, punctuation and spelling, including SATs-style questions.
* Confidence & catch-up support – helping children who need a little extra time, encouragement or support to close gaps in their learning.
* General primary English – lessons tailored around whatever your child is currently learning at school.

Whatever your child's starting point, I want lessons to feel relaxed, encouraging and enjoyable. I'll take the time to understand how your child learns best and use activities that keep them engaged while building their confidence. My aim is not only to help children improve their English, but to help them become more confident readers, writers and communicators.
