About Jess
I’m a qualified primary school teacher with 12 years of teaching experience and a real passion for helping children become confident, enthusiastic readers. As a Reading Lead, phonics and early reading are a particular area of interest for me. I love making learning fun, engaging and tailored to each child, and I’m passionate about helping children overcome barriers, build their confidence and discover the joy of reading.

Phonics, Reading & Spelling Tutoring
Is your child struggling with phonics, reading or spelling, or would they benefit from some extra support to build their confidence?
I’m a qualified primary school teacher and Reading Lead, offering friendly, personalised tutoring sessions for primary-aged children, with a particular focus on phonics, reading and spelling.
With experience supporting children with a wide range of learning needs and abilities, I can tailor each session to your child’s individual starting point and areas for development.
Sessions can include:
Phonics – recognising sounds, blending and segmenting
Reading – decoding, fluency, comprehension and building a love of reading
️ Spelling – phonics-based spelling, segmenting and applying spelling patterns
Confidence – helping children feel positive and successful in their learning
I believe tutoring should be fun, engaging and encouraging, rather than feeling like extra schoolwork. Sessions will be carefully planned around your child, using activities and resources that keep them motivated while helping them make progress.
Whether your child needs help securing their phonics knowledge, becoming a more confident reader, improving their spelling, or simply needs some extra practice, I’d love to help.
