About Riana
I am a qualified Registered Nurse, with a Bachelor of Nursing Science, and an Advanced Practice Post-Graduate specialization in Clinical Emergency Nursing.
I have worked in government-funded research projects, specifically related to Emergency Medicine Practices and Health-Care systems.
I am currently practicing as an Emergency Nurse with Queensland Health, and working towards my Master's of Nursing in Education, allowing me the ability to take on educational practice roles in clinical or non-clinical environments.
I have a strong passion for supporting nursing students to achieve high academic results through structure, clarity, and confidence.

ABOUT ME & MY APPROACH
My approach goes beyond traditional tutoring. Rather than simply re-teaching content, I combine study skills coaching, academic organisation, and targeted nursing content support to help students understand how to study effectively for nursing — not just what to study.
MY TEACHING METHOD
I use a coaching-based, structured approach that focuses on:
- Clear and repeatable study systems
- Strong academic organisation and planning
- Deep understanding of nursing concepts and assessment expectations
- Targeted, actionable feedback to improve grades
Sessions are collaborative and practical, with a focus on building independence, confidence, and consistency over time.
A TYPICAL LESSON
Each session is tailored to the student, but commonly includes:
- Reviewing current subjects, assessments, or upcoming exams
- Clarifying nursing concepts using real-world clinical examples
- Breaking down assessments and marking criteria
- Developing personalised study plans, templates, or revision strategies
- Providing detailed feedback on written work, structure, and clinical reasoning
- Identifying specific changes that will improve grades and performance
Students leave each session with clear next steps, improved organisation, and a stronger sense of direction.
