Hello :)
I am Theiviya or as my school students call me, Miss P. I have found imparting knowledge and getting to know my students a truly rewarding activity. I enjoy learning and improving in my practice. I am known to be calm, patient and friendly which allows for positive learning environments.

My method for teaching is adapted and tailored to the student. I like to work from problem-based and enquiry-based approaches and ensuring opportunities for active recall. I aim to make my students independent with their learning by giving the tools and guidance necessary to take ownership of their studies.
I am friendly and easy to talk to which makes students comfortable asking for support where needed.
I have ample resources from my years of tutoring privately and teaching in schools. I have been a private tutor for the sciences, maths and French for 9 years and have taught in schools for 6 years. I have a degree in biomedical sciences and PGCE with QTS in teaching chemistry. I have taught in a girls' private school up to A level for the last 4 years. I have really enjoyed being a teacher and building pleasant classroom environments for my students where they feel understood.
My lessons are typically 1 hour long. I also take 1h30mins sessions when preparing for exams.

A lovely teacher, who teaches both my children. My eldest son learns chemistry and biology and has improved since Thevivya started to teach him. His grades have gone up almost 2 levels. Her teaching methods are very good, and weekly homework is set for my son to complete. Topics and modules are covered by Thevivya from his school curriculum map set for his school year. This keeps him ahead of the game.
