About Melissa
I’m passionate about helping learners build confidence in Afrikaans. I studied Afrikaans and English at North-West University and have two years of teaching experience in an IEB private school for girls.
In my teaching role, I have created and set assessments, booklets, worksheets and supporting learning materials. I believe in making Afrikaans simple and understandable, especially when learners find certain concepts difficult. My lessons are supportive, engaging and tailored to each learner’s needs, with plenty of practice and clear explanations.
I look forward to helping learners improve their Afrikaans skills and feel more confident in the subject!

I offer private Afrikaans tutoring for learners from Grade 4 to Grade 12. Afrikaans is my home language, and I focus on making lessons simple, clear and easy to understand.
What makes my lessons unique is my personalised approach and excellent resources. I create my own worksheets and learning materials to suit each learner’s needs and make difficult concepts easier to understand. Learners can expect an engaging lesson with clear explanations, practice activities and support in areas where they need extra help.
I teach Afrikaans as a Home Language and First Additional Language.
