About Helené
Hello! My name is Helené, and I am a qualified B.Ed teacher with experience teaching both Afrikaans and English. I am passionate about helping learners reach their full potential and believe that every student can succeed with the right guidance, encouragement, and support.
I offer tutoring for learners in Grades 4–12 in both Home Language and First Additional Language. Whether you are looking to improve your marks, prepare for tests and exams, strengthen your language skills, or gain confidence in the classroom, I will tailor each lesson to suit your individual learning needs and goals.
My lessons are structured, engaging, and focused on helping learners understand concepts rather than simply memorising content. I use clear explanations, practical examples, and exam-focused practice to build confidence and develop long-term academic success. I also provide support with language work, literature, essays, oral preparation, homework, and study techniques.
I am fluent in both Afrikaans and English and can teach in either language, depending on what works best for the learner. I pride myself on creating a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing in confidence.
I understand that every learner is different, which is why I adapt my teaching style to each individual. My goal is not only to help students improve their results but also to help them become independent, confident learners who enjoy the process of learning.

I am a qualified B.Ed teacher with classroom experience teaching Afrikaans and English. I offer private tutoring for learners in Grades 4–12, specialising in both Home Language and First Additional Language. Whether you need help improving your marks, preparing for exams, completing homework, or building confidence in the language, my lessons are tailored to your individual needs.
My teaching approach is patient, supportive, and structured. I believe every learner can succeed when lessons are adapted to their learning style and pace. I identify areas where a learner is struggling, explain concepts in a clear and practical way, and provide plenty of guided practice to help them master the work.
Lessons are available in both Afrikaans and English, allowing learners to receive explanations in the language they are most comfortable with. A typical lesson includes reviewing previous work, addressing problem areas, practising exam-style questions, and developing effective study techniques. I also provide assistance with essays, language exercises, literature, oral preparation, and examination strategies.
My lessons are suitable for learners who need extra support, those aiming to improve their marks, as well as high-achieving students who want to excel academically. I strive to create a positive learning environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions, gain confidence, and develop the skills needed to achieve lasting success.
