I motivate my students by building their confidence and helping them see that success in Psychology is achievable with the right support and strategies. Many students come to me feeling overwhelmed by the content or discouraged by past assessment results, so I focus on breaking topics down into clear, manageable steps and celebrating progress along the way. I use goal-setting, regular feedback, and exam-focused practice to help students understand how to improve, not just what to revise. By showing students exactly where they can gain marks and how to apply their knowledge effectively, they become more confident and motivated to push themselves further. I also encourage active participation in lessons, using discussion and questioning to keep students engaged and thinking critically. Above all, I aim to create a supportive and positive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. This approach helps students develop resilience, take ownership of their learning, and stay motivated as they work towards achieving their target grades.
