About Sage
With 6 years of teaching and professional performance experience, I am an experienced violin tutor committed to helping students grow as confident, skilled, and expressive musicians. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.
One of the highlights of my career has been seeing students transform from uncertain beginners into confident performers capable of playing with technical precision, expression, and emotion.
My teaching focuses on building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive performance. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide a holistic understanding of music. Lessons are customised to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a patient, supportive, and motivating environment where students feel encouraged to explore, experiment, and grow.
Teaching violin allows me to inspire confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music in every student I teach.

I teach violin using a methodology rooted in motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, crafted to develop musicians who are technically proficient, expressive, and confident. Each lesson is fully tailored to the student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, blending structured technical exercises with creative exploration, improvisation, and performance practice.
Motivation drives my approach. I guide students in setting both short-term and long-term goals, track their progress in detail, and celebrate milestones. This encourages perseverance, resilience, and self-confidence, while instilling a lifelong love for music. Students learn to view challenges as opportunities for growth, developing a mindset that embraces effort and improvement.
Communication ensures a supportive and interactive learning environment. Students are encouraged to ask questions, express challenges, and share ideas openly, fostering trust and collaboration.
Creativity is integrated into every lesson. Through improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises, students explore their personal artistic voice and build a strong emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that guarantee consistent progress and long-term success.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, giving students a comprehensive understanding of music. This methodology nurtures technical mastery, artistic expression, confidence, and lifelong engagement with music.
