About Charlie

I am originally from Los Angeles, CA, but moved to the UK to study politics and international relations at the University of Exeter when I turned 18. Since then, I have completed my MSc International Relations (Research) at the London School of Economics and two years of my four-year PhD (also at LSE) which uses quantitative and machine learning methods to study the ways in which states talk about terrorism and political violence. I have taught International Security at the undergraduate level and have tutored a number of clients in fields ranging from public health, ecology, to (naturally) international relations. I have published two articles in world-leading, peer-reviewed academic journals and continue to explore ways to push the boundaries of quantitative social science research.

Fun fact: I had (very brief!) speaking roles as a kid on two television shows you likely know.

As a third-year PhD Candidate in the London School of Economics' Department of International Relations, I am experienced in the application of quantitative methods to social science questions.

Together, we can discuss how to formulate a research question, compose a literature review, specify and undertake relevant quantitative analyses, and interpret your results.
