About Nilesh

Currently studying Medical Science at UNSW with a 90+ WAM.

Math and science always came naturally to me. English was consistently both my most frustrating and weakest subject where I'd blame subjective markers, vague feedback, and never really knowing what the examiner actually wanted. I know what it's like to get an essay back and have no idea what to actually fix.

Yet after one shift in how I approached the subject, I scored my first full marks in Year 9 Term 3. This then carried to consistent 18-20/20's across Years 9, 10, and 11, ranking 11th out of 257 students in English Advanced at Knox and winning the Prize for Creative Writing. The momentum carried into English Extension, scoring 40/40 on individual tasks, with an internal rank of 10 and an E4 (Top Band) in the HSC. The same system, applied to every single task from Year 9 through to the HSC, and the same system I teach.

I also achieved Band 6 in Economics and Mathematics Advanced at Knox, where I studied Extension 1 Math, Chemistry, and Physics as well.

About the lesson

Each student follows a structured program built around their prescribed texts, school assessments and individual weaknesses. Sessions are one hour, run online, and focus on detailed essay feedback rather than generic content delivery.

A typical session involves working through the student’s own writing line by line, comparing it against high-scoring exemplars, and identifying exactly where marks are being gained or lost. I teach students to treat English less as a subjective guessing game and more as a set of objective checkboxes: question engagement, keyword evolution across paragraphs, layered analysis chains, context integration and form awareness.

Between sessions, students have access to a full resource bank of annotated essays, text-specific notes and essay scaffolds, as well as ongoing written feedback on any work they send through. Every session finishes with a written summary so both the student and their parents can see what was covered and what to focus on next.

I work with students from Year 7 through to Year 12 across English Standard, Advanced and Extension 1. The program is particularly suited to students sitting the 2027 HSC under the revised English Advanced syllabus, which I have already worked through in detail.
