About Clara
I am a dedicated and experienced elementary teacher with 25 years of teaching Grade 1 learners, including students in Special Science Classes. Throughout my career, I have developed effective strategies for helping young children build strong foundations in reading, comprehension, vocabulary, pronunciation, and communication.
My teaching approach is patient, structured, and learner-centered. I understand that every child has a different learning pace, so I adjust my lessons according to each student’s needs, strengths, and areas for improvement. I use phonics, sight words, guided reading, storytelling, picture clues, repetition, educational games, and interactive exercises to make learning clear, enjoyable, and meaningful.
A typical lesson includes a short review, the introduction of a new skill, guided practice, independent reading activities, comprehension questions, and a brief assessment. I also provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help students become more confident and independent learners.
What sets me apart is my extensive classroom experience and my ability to identify reading difficulties early. I simplify lessons, provide step-by-step guidance, and create a supportive environment where children feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them.
My lessons are designed for children aged 6 to 11 years old, including beginners, struggling readers, and learners who want to improve their reading fluency, comprehension, pronunciation, vocabulary, and confidence. My teaching approach is patient, structured, and child-centered. With 25 years of teaching experience, including teaching Grade 1 Special Science Classes, I understand that every child learns differently. I adjust my teaching methods based on the learner’s ability, interests, and learning pace.
I use phonics, sight words, guided reading, repetition, storytelling, picture clues, games, and interactive activities to make lessons easier and more enjoyable. I explain concepts using simple language and provide encouragement to help learners become confident and independent.
A typical lesson begins with a short review, followed by the introduction of a new skill. The learner then participates in guided practice, reading exercises, comprehension questions, and engaging activities. Each lesson ends with a brief assessment and feedback to check the learner’s progress.
What sets me apart is my extensive classroom experience and my ability to help struggling readers improve step by step. I can identify a child’s reading difficulties and use appropriate techniques to help them recognize words, read sentences, improve pronunciation, and understand what they are reading.
