About Karen
I am a teacher and have bee teaching students of various ages (preschool -12th grade) for decades. I have teaching certificates in Elementary Education and Special Education with both a generalist and mild/moderate needs endorsements. I have had great success using both Lindamood-Bell and Orton Gillingham reading interventions, while working with struggling readers in grades K-12.

My teaching approach is based on the individual needs of each student. I strive to ensure students work within a 90% success rate to increase motivation. All materials and lessons are prepped with each student's needs and interests in mind. I use progress monitoring and data points to develop lessons to meet students where they are and provide constant positive support and constructive feedback to help them make gains. Instruction is intense, and witnessing students make gains is rewarding.
