About Iishaan

Hey! My name is Iishaan and I’ve just finished my A-levels in Chemistry, Biology, and Maths, with predicted grades of A, A*, A*.

As I’ve just come out of the school system myself, I know exactly what students are up against and what the exam boards want them to write. The stress of STEM subjects and the frustration when a theory just doesn’t click is all too familiar to me. My goal is to be a mentor who can bridge the gap between classroom lessons and independent revision.

Having tutored GCSE, pre-GCSE, Year 6, and even worked on stage with Year 1 students, I bring genuine practical experience to my tutoring. I know how to read a room and adapt my teaching style to each specific student, keeping them focused while making sure they actually enjoy the lesson.

I treat tutoring as a partnership, creating a comfortable space where students feel completely safe to ask questions and build their confidence.

About the lesson

I don't believe in just memorising mark schemes or tricks to pass a test. If a student doesn't understand why a formula works or what a concept means, they will struggle when a question is asked in a different way in the exam. My method is straightforward: understanding first, exam technique second. First, we simplify the topic using plain English. I use real-world examples, analogies, and interactive discussions until the lightbulb moment happens and everything makes sense. Once I know they fully grasp the main concept, and everything surrounding it, we shift to exam technique. We look at past papers together, break down what the examiners are really looking for, and practise writing answers that earn the most marks.

Lessons will be an hour long, first 5 minutes to catch up on what we did last week and any worries or concerns, 45 minutes teaching new content or revising old if needed, and the last 10 minutes for summarising the lesson.

Lessons are for year 7 to 11, KS3 to GCSE.

I’ve just finished my A-Levels (predicted A*, A*, A in biology, maths and chemistry), so the curriculum is completely fresh in my mind. I know exactly what students are going through right now.

I’ve helped out teaching in Year 6 classrooms and done tutoring at a stage school. This taught me how to keep younger students engaged, patient when they get stuck, and always encouraging them in a healthy way.
