My teaching methods are to first improve the students understanding of the base concepts behind the material and questions they are answering. Once their base knowledge has improved, we can better tackle the specific questions at hand. This is not "teaching to the test," where their skills are only helpful to pass. This will improve their understanding and approach to all subjects, and should naturally improve grades as a result.

- Alex is a great student, he studies hard and works through problems on his own time to ensure that he is prepared. I suggest that Alex focuses on theory so that he can step back a little and view the entire problem, before moving in to solving problems using equationsRhys's response :
