About Nicholas

I am a recent medical school graduate with a strong passion for education and science. I hold AAA GCSE qualification in all three sciences as well as holding A-Level qualifications in Biology, Chemistry and Physics where I acheived ABC respectively.

I found that my experience not fitting the traditional education model made my teachers lack faith in my abilities, leading them to give me CDE as predicted grades, which just goes to show that everyone is different in the way they learn and understand and that to me is the greatest strength of personal tutoring.

I found similar students who struggled in medical school with understanding how things work as the majority of professors would just tell us what things are without explaining how and why. Helping my students understand why things work the way they do has helped them immensely throughout the rest of their medical studies and I hope to be able to instil that in my future students.

About the lesson

I like to present lesson content through condensed bullet points but expanding on those bullet points as I speak, taking any questions you may have and explaining the how and why of how things work to improve knowledge and understanding in a more natural way, rather than bulk memorisation of information.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes long as that is usually the ideal length of time for continuous concentration however, this can be lengthened or shortened to suit your needs!

I have experience teaching several medical students in the hard sciences as that is what I find most people struggle with, and I am proud to say I have helped each of them to pass their exams and achieve great results! One of my students had almost no chemistry experience at all, by the time exam season came he passed all of his exams with flying colours!

I am more than happy to teach Medicine to medical students, Biology up to A-Level, and Chemistry and Physics up to GCSE level. That being said I am also happy to teach younger students at the 11+/13+ level!
