About Samuel
I am a recently qualified secondary school teacher specializing in English and Religious Education, and I am committed to helping students feel confident, supported, and capable in their learning. I understand that many students can feel unsure of their abilities or overwhelmed by schoolwork, and I aim to create a calm, respectful learning environment where progress feels achievable.
My teaching approach is structured, clear, and student-centered. Lessons are carefully planned to suit individual learning needs, with a strong focus on understanding rather than rote learning. I use clear explanations, modeling, discussion, and guided practice to help students develop skills step by step. I place particular emphasis on building confidence in essay writing, comprehension, critical thinking, and exam techniques.
Each lesson is adapted to the student’s level, pace, and goals. I regularly review progress and adjust my teaching strategies to ensure students remain engaged and motivated. I am patient, approachable, and supportive, and I aim to help students develop both academic skills and self-confidence.
Through my teacher training and classroom experience, I have developed a strong understanding of the secondary school curriculum, including Junior Cycle and senior cycle requirements. I am professional, reliable, and dedicated to supporting students in reaching their potential.

My approach to tutoring is student-centred, structured, and encouraging. I focus on building confidence first, as I believe students learn best when they feel supported and understood. Lessons are carefully planned around the student’s needs, whether that is improving essay writing, understanding literature texts, developing exam skills, or exploring key themes in Religious Education. I use clear explanations, guided questioning, discussion, and active learning strategies to keep lessons engaging and meaningful.
I adapt my teaching style to suit each student, for example, a student like Samuel may benefit from breaking tasks into smaller steps and using examples before moving on to independent work. I also regularly check understanding and adjust lessons accordingly.
