About Soren
I am a piano tutor with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, specialising in piano, and 4 years of teaching experience. My training combines academic knowledge with practical skills across jazz, pop, and classical styles. I love sharing this blend with my students, helping them discover the joy of music in many forms. I work with both school-aged students and adults, tailoring lessons to fit their unique goals. Whether you want to prepare for exams, learn your favourite songs, or explore improvisation, I’m here to guide you. My approach focuses on building strong technique while keeping lessons fun and engaging. I believe everyone can improve with the right support and motivation. I’m passionate about creating a positive environment where students feel confident to grow and express themselves. Together, we’ll develop your skills and love for playing piano. My teaching approach for piano combines strong fundamentals with modern tools to help students grow confidently. I emphasise sight reading early on, so learners can quickly understand new music. Improvisation is also a key part of my lessons, encouraging creativity and personal expression. I believe progress tracking is important, so I use clear goals and regular reviews to keep students motivated and aware of their improvements. Technology plays a big role in my teaching. I integrate virtual piano apps and metronomes to support practice outside of lessons. These tools help students build timing, accuracy, and independence. Whether preparing for exams or performing classical pieces, I tailor lessons to fit each student’s goals. I focus on developing technical skill while nurturing musicality. My lessons balance discipline with enjoyment, making learning both effective and fun. I support students to stay focused and confident through consistent practice and positive feedback. This approach helps them excel and enjoy every step of their piano journey.
