About Pierre
Creating an engaging learning environment is an essential part of my teaching philosophy. I firmly believe that higher education goes beyond the mere acquisition of syllabus content. It's about empowering students to explore, apply, and innovate.
Drawing from my extensive experience as a renowned PhD educator with over 22 years of global university teaching, I bring a wealth of knowledge in various programming languages, including C/C++/C#, Python, and Java.
My expertise extends to assembly language, databases encompassing SQL, and advanced reporting tools such as Power BI, SSRS, and Crystal Reports, all underpinned by a deep understanding of microprocessors.
Central to my teaching style is the expectation that students actively engage in their own learning. I encouraged students to think critically, ask questions, and explore solutions independently. This not only enhances their understanding of the subjects but also to equip them with problem-solving skills.

I believe my role as a computer courses teacher is to encourage students not only to understand courses but to make sure that I am giving them tools for other courses as well as for their professional lives by using case studies, real-life examples, and thought-provoking questions.
Despite the fact that I like and encourage using new technologies like PowerPoint slides, I prefer to solve all exercises on the board where students can see all steps one by one and I can explain different approaches and case studies as well as real-life examples and thought-provoking questions.
The constructivist pedagogy methods I use emphasize active discovery learning on the part of my students.
I design my lectures and practical lessons to have students learn through doing: through trial-and-error, solving problems, and creating new solutions.
I let students discover errors in programs by themselves and always ask them to try to solve the same problem in a different way or using a different algorithm.
