About Fred
I am a retired engineer with years of experience in the telecom industry, plus years of experience as a business owner. I also bring great experience in other passions such as landscaping, surveying, handyman services, and a few others. All of my life I have had people working for me directly or as part of small to medium size projects. So I know how to help people see a bigger picture and how to make things work. Math has always been my forte and my project management success has honed my logic and systems skills

My Teaching Methodology & Techniques
My teaching style is practical, patient, and based on real-world experience. I focus on helping students truly understand what they are doing—not just memorizing steps. I break complex concepts into simple, logical stages and adjust my approach based on how each student learns best.
Because of my background in engineering, project management, and hands-on trade work, I combine:

I also place strong emphasis on safety, efficiency, and professional work habits, which are essential in both technical and hands-on environments.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson is structured but flexible, depending on the student’s needs and level. A typical session includes:
Review of goals – What the student wants to learn that day
Safety and setup – Especially for technical or hands-on topics
Demonstration & explanation – I show how and why something works
Student practice – With coaching and feedback
Review & improvement – What went well, what needs refining
Real-world connection – How this skill applies on the job or in business
My goal is that every student finishes a lesson feeling more confident and capable than when they started.
