About Jerrod
I am the President/Founder of the International Diplomatic Alliance. When I was a soldier, as my wife says, it was 100 years ago, we had a meeting session with the senior drill sergeant, where all of the soldiers sat in a circle, introduced themselves, gave a little bit about their history, why they joined the army, and what was their goal in life. When it was my turn, I stood up… Good Evening I am Jerrod Crockett, from a small unknown little village in Kansas called Osage City. I grew up in a poor family with my biological mom, 2 half-brothers, 2 half-sisters, and an abusive, alcoholic stepfather. We spent the vast majority of my childhood moving from house to house, not staying in any one place for more than just a couple of years. When I came of age, I realized that I had to make a dramatic move for myself, so I joined the Army to get away from home and the life that I was living. My Goal in life….. TO CHANGE THE WORLD…..After all of the laughing from the other soldiers, My Drill Sergeant sat there with a silent yet puzzled look on his face as the others gave their speeches. Fast forward 30 years…. I was long since retired from the Army and was on my final phase of retirement from Federal Law Enforcement. I was sitting down, while on lunch break, and was approached by an older gentleman. I didn’t know who he was right away. The gentleman stated that he saw me from a distance and that he remembered me. As he introduced himself…. He was my Senior Drill Sergeant from Basic Training. I invited him to join me so we recapped old times. He said that he remembered my speech and that it has stuck with him ever since that day. And how I did at achieving my goal. I explained that I was medically retired from the Army and went into police service. During my career, I had been through 28 states and 35 countries. It was a personal mission to serve as a Goodwill Ambassador everywhere I went. I saw it in the perspective, that if I could be a positive influence to at least one person, wherever I was, that one person could in turn do the same…. Causing a chain reaction for change. Over the years, I still kept in close contact with friends that I have made around the world. Many of them are close friends that I consider to be family and would trust with my life. So yes I do see that I did achieve my goal of changing the world. I found a poem written by Linda Ellis called THE DASH. I explained the meaning of the poem to my former Drill Sergeant… (I later found out that he had the poem read at his eulogy). This is only a portion of the poem…. But it represents the most important view of what is meant by service. THE DASH I READ OF A MAN WHO STOOD TO SPEAK AT THE FUNERAL OF A FRIEND. HE REFERRED TO THE DATES ON HER TOMBSTONE FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END. HE NOTED THAT FIRST CAME THE DATE OF HER BIRTH AND SPOKE OF THE FOLLOWING DATE WITH TEARS, BUT MATTERED MOST OF ALL WAS THE DASH BETWEEN THOSE YEARS. FOR THAT DASH REPRESENTS ALL OF THE TIME THAT SHE SPENT ALIVE ON EARTH AND NOW ONLY THOSE WHO LOVED HER KNOW WHAT THAT LITTLE LINE IS WORTH. FOR IT MATTERS NOT, HOW MUCH WE OWN, THE CARS… THE HOUSE… THE CASH. WHAT MATTERS MOST IS HOW WE LIVE AND LOVE AND HOW WE SPEND OUR DASH. Working in law enforcement for 30 years has given a good understanding of the laws. After retirement I went on to teaching courses to enhance: leadership development, police skills, communications, and security practices. Many of the courses can be offered either virtually or in person, depending on the nature of the training. Several of the courses have been adopted internationally and are being instructed to foreign students.
