I retired 2015 from teaching in inner-city; have 30+ years of experience in providing instruction to preschool to adult; use humor, real-life situations, and daily challenges to motivate students; possess flexibility, respect, current events, and creative models of instruction; and treat each student as an individual and meet him/her at the current level of instruction.

As I plan and prepare for instruction, I consider preferred learning styles of individual students as indicated on their personal surveys/narratives/interviews. It’s imperative that I offer options when it comes to assignments so students may choose those that peak their interests...the ultimate expectation for my students is that they not only learn the information but beyond that, they are able to make practical application with that information and utilize it in their daily activities...
