About Nicolas
I am a geoscientist with a well-based math background. Even my experience on teaching private classes about my subject (maths) has not been extensive, just helping out my work schedule to students in need from friends and referrals, I can say on my own behalf that my math and physics classes were very explanatory and had a great impact on improving their final scores (mainly above 80/100).

As a retired geoscientist, in the Oil and Gas industry, with a MSc degree and having a lot of mathematical preparation behind, I have learned that the most effective way to be a truly tutor is to be capable to transmit the essentials of any particular subject. Today, there is a great tendency, and I am not against it necessarily, to mainly follow recipes because they are easy to teach, globally followed, and focused to get just a score...but there is a risk here...the student could not UNDERSTAND what he will do when facing new situations (i.e., new homework, final tests, etc) which significantly departure from those recipes and have a higher level of complexity. My approach is basically to teach my students the basis of each math method and help them to think and perform their activities with a progressive exposure to complexity.
My focus is on helping to students understand the basis more than just teach them to follow a recipe.
