About Juri
Ciao! My name is Juri. I was born and raised in Rome,to London to pursue my acting career. I graduated from the Oxford School of Drama, where I deepened my understanding of voice, expression and communication, skills that now shape the way I teach and interact with students. I studied languages in high school, developing a strong foundation in grammar, structure and phonetics. Italian is my native language, but I also speak fluent English and Sinhala, my parents’ mother tongue. This multilingual background allows me to connect with students from different cultures and understand the challenges of learning a new language from the inside. I am passionate about helping others experience Italian not just as a subject, but as a living, expressive language full of sound, culture and rhythm. My aim is to create lessons where students feel supported, motivated and confident to speak!

My lessons are dynamic, practical, and tailored to each student’s pace and goals. I teach Italian through conversation, real-life situations, and expressive communication, using my background as an actor to help students develop confidence, fluency, and clear pronunciation. Together we work not only on vocabulary and grammar, but also on rhythm, sound, and the natural musicality of the language. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes and includes three core elements: 1. Warm-up & pronunciation practice, speaking exercises based on everyday Italian 2. Learning focus on grammar, vocabulary or topic of your choice 3. Conversation & role-play, using what you’ve learned in spontaneous speech My goal is to make Italian feel natural and alive, not like a textbook. Whether you want to improve your speaking, rebuild your basics, or prepare for travel, I create lessons that are engaging, creative, and fully personalised. We can explore Italian through culture, cinema and everyday dialogues. I look forward to supporting you on your Italian journey!
