About Roslyn

After graduating from East 15 Drama School with a First-Class honours degree in Acting, I built extensive experience, combining my expertise in acting and drama with educating children and young people. I have an A pass in English (Scottish Higher Exam Board) and four years of teaching assistant experience both in mainstream and SEN schools. I spent one year as a one to one SEN support with a child with autism. On graduating I worked with BBC Radio Drama, developing expertise that I bring to Public Speaking tutoring. My background in Acting and Drama is a key element in supporting the way in which I work with students. I believe passionately that theatre and performance is extremely beneficial to a child’s education, communication and social development.
When studying, I was cast in a production of Shakespeare’s ‘Richard III’, which toured in schools and colleges around London and Essex. I had a key role in running a Q&A workshop with the students after each performance. This stimulated my interest and sparked off my experience in tutoring students on Shakespeare in an interesting, clear and fun way.
I had the pleasure of running Drama sessions at XUK and Mini Minor camps. This involved planning, resourcing and running the half hour sessions for children aged 3-14. It was important that all the sessions were exciting, fun and suitably challenging for the age group of the kids. Ensuring the health and safety of the children was of the upmost priority.
While working as a teaching assistant at a school in Knightsbridge, I privately tutored a young child who didn’t speak English fluently and needed encouragement with confidence building, social interaction and speaking English. I did this by getting to know the child, playing games that included language, vocal interaction, reading and writing.
It is a passionate goal of mine to offer tutoring in Drama, English and Public Speaking. I am available to tutor all ages and I believe the sessions should be person-centred, at the pace of the student, constructive and enjoyable.
