About James
I am part of the Senior GB Rowing Team with the goal to race at the LA 2028 Olympics. When I am not training I am coaching, having accumulated over 3 years of bespoke 1:1 coaching, mentoring and training. My goal is to help my clients achieve their aims, smash milestones, and accelerate their rowing careers by using my experience as both a high level athlete, and as a coach. A bit about my background: inspired by the success of the GB Rowing Team at the 2012 Olympics, I tried out for the GB World Class Start Programme. Upon selection, my rowing journey began at Twickenham Rowing Club where I made significant strides as an athlete as well as gained invaluable experience in coaching. My ambition led me to Durham University during which I gained selection for the GB U23 Rowing Team in 2018 in the Men's Pair. Following my graduation I was recruited to Leander Club and moved to Henley-on-Thames. Since then I have represented the GB Rowing Team at senior level at the World Rowing Cup III in Sabaudia 2021, WRC III Poznan 2024, as well as won the Ladies' Plate at Henley Royal Regatta in 2022.

To understand your personal goals and ambitions, your first free lesson will be used to discuss and set out a training programme tailored to your individual aims and needs. Once you are on this programme, lessons to follow will be in the form of training reviews. These sessions will primarily focus on video analysis of your training to hone in on rowing technique. Through these reviews, we create an invaluable dialogue between coach and athlete. I love being able to mentor and nurture developing athletes. With my substantial coaching background, combined with a patient and personable nature, we can fast-track your progress in the sport and achieve your goals, no matter your age or experience.
