About David

I'm 16 years old, currently in 11th grade and finished in the top 25% of my class last year, as well as the past two terms of my school year. I recieved a 1440 on my SAT(720-720). I'm very proficient in English and topped my class in the subject, and participate regularly in local writing competitions. I'm also very strong in Math and am familiar with its SAT mechanics, tricks, and shortcuts, especially on Desmos.
I've also participated in many national and international competitions including MUNs, Robotics competitions, chess competitions, and writing competitions.
I believe studying for the SAT is about strategy, not proficiency. You don't need to be William Shakespeare to ace SAT English. You don't need to be Alan Turing to get an 800 on the SAT math section.
You just need to know your strategies, manage your time, and take advantage of all the resources you can find.
I've gone through the same steps as you have to get a good score in the SAT, and know how the grind works. I know which resources are great and reliable (Khan and Oneprep for example, total lifesavers). I can help you go above and beyond in your improvement and push you to the highest level.

About the lesson

(SAT tutoring) Our objective with my lessons will be to get you to a 1300 or higher, depending on your current score. I am EXTREMELY flexible with my schedule and can give up to 2 hours a day, and more on weekends.

I am able to set any sort of lesson plan based on the student's time and availability, and when they plan to take the SAT. I can tutor students in any timezone with a little bit of coordination.
Some techniques we'll use include:
--> diagnostic tests
--> timed questioning (aiming to be able to answer easy-medium difficulty questions in less than a minute)
--> a concept then application format
--> adaptive lesson planning.
---> using FREE online resources including: Khan Academy, Bluebook, Oneprep, and the official College Board question bank.
--> understanding math problems and deciphering weird and complicated systems easily.
---> categorizing mistakes based on time trouble, not understanding material, or silly mistakes and focusing heavily on fixing these issues.
--> using line reading and question first reading analysis techniques.
My score is 1440 (720 Math, 720 English).
Students' mistakes mostly come from not knowing the proper technique to digest big reading passages and graphs (I know, I hate them too).
In math, a lot of students don't truly utilize the built-in calculator, Desmos, and suffer because of it.
I plan to address these issues and push the limits of your SAT score.

Primary rate is 15$ an hour.
5 hours --> 60$ (translates to 12$ an hour!)
10 hours --> 100$ (translates to 10$ an hour!)
The first session is ALWAYS free, just to get a feel for what my tutoring is like. I'd reccomend you do a practice test on Bluebook before you start learning with me, so i can see your score and learn your weaknessess and strengths.
