About Taffy
I’ve been tutoring students at both high school and university level for several years, and I understand that everyone learns differently. My goal is to make complex concepts clear, approachable, and even enjoyable, while building your confidence and problem-solving skills. Whether you’re preparing for exams, struggling with specific topics, or aiming to strengthen your foundation in biology or chemistry, I’ll tailor our lessons to suit your pace and learning style.

My approach to tutoring is centred on building a strong conceptual understanding, developing problem-solving skills, and tailoring lessons to each student’s individual learning style. I focus on making complex topics approachable and engaging by breaking them into manageable sections, using clear examples, and connecting theory to real-world applications. I encourage active participation through questioning, practice problems, and discussions, ensuring students are not just memorising information but truly understanding it.
I typically structure lessons in 60–90 minute sessions, allowing time for explanation, guided practice, and review of key concepts. I also provide additional resources such as notes, practice exercises, and summaries for students to consolidate learning between sessions.
I hold a Bachelor of Science from Monash University, majoring in Developmental Biology and Biochemistry. My academic background, combined with experience tutoring high school and university students, has equipped me with the knowledge and communication skills to teach a range of levels—from Year 10 students preparing for exams to undergraduate students needing support with complex topics. I have experience tutoring biology, chemistry, and general science subjects, and I adapt my methodology depending on the student’s goals, pace, and prior knowledge.
My lessons are suitable for high school students aiming to improve their grades or prepare for exams, as well as university students seeking guidance in foundational and advanced topics in biology, biochemistry, and related sciences.
