About Fozia

Hi! I'm Fozia and I'm looking forward to helping you out! I teach science for kids in grades 3-12 (or the equivalent) and do online classes only.

I started tutoring because I wanted to help kids like me, who struggle to comprehend information at the same pace as others. I was a slow learner (and still am!) but that's taught me skills in how to approach difficult concepts. I like to break things down, use visual aids and colors. I'm very flexible with how my sessions will go, if I notice you need more help in a particular question example, I will spend more time on that. I like to simplify things as much as possible and only move forward to the next concept if you feel ready!

I hope I get the chance to teach a student as amazing as you! Even if you don't feel "amazing" right now, I hope to make my students more confident in their own learning habits. So don't worry, I got your back :)

About the lesson

As a tutor, my first session is to check out a student's past assessments so I can understand their strengths and weaknesses in the subject. I will also ask for any homework questions or sheets I can look at to understand what their teacher looks for and wants students to practice specifically. I then learn about what they are currently learning in class so I can plan lessons around that.

Sessions following that, I like to use visuals and colors to help students understand concepts. I will have questions that I go through step-by-step with the student, then I will provide similar questions for the student to do on their own using what they learned. If instead the student requests help with their homework that day and not a lesson, I will use the same approach of solving it together then doing the rest on your own. I will always be there to answer any questions and guide them.

My lessons are for children in grades 3-12 or the equivalent of that. For kids in grades 11-12 (or equivalent), I specifically only offer help in chemistry as I am more familiar with that subject. I also only like to do online classes.
