About Jyotsana
I am a second year Material Science and engineering student with a passion for sciences and maths. Having studied these subjects myself, I understand how difficult and confusing they can initially appear, but I truly believe that with the correct methods and mindset, achieving good grades in science and maths, whilst also enjoying studying the subjects, is very possible!

My lessons usually last an hour and I like to centre my lessons around practice questions. I'll usually start my asking my student to explain what they are confused about within the topic, and use preprepared sources such as diagrams or notes to try and built up their understanding. Throughout the whole lesson I encourage the student to think out loud, firstly so that I can understand their thought process and see where confusion may be occurring, but also so that they get a clearer idea of what they are thinking for themselves. I have found this to work very effectively over my near two years of tutoring to also create a framework for the student to approach problems independently.
