About Maya

My name is Maya, and I am a second-year Law student at the University of Oxford. I am passionate about helping students understand law in a clear, structured and engaging way. Having studied in a demanding academic environment, I understand the importance of strong legal reasoning, clear essay structure and effective exam technique.

I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their confidence. My lessons are carefully prepared and tailored to each student’s level, goals and learning style. Whether a student needs help understanding legal concepts, improving essay writing, preparing for exams or developing study skills, I focus on giving practical guidance that they can apply independently.

I am professional, patient and committed to helping students make steady progress. My goal is not only to improve academic performance, but also to help students feel more confident and capable when approaching law.

About the lesson

My name is Maya, and I am a second-year Law student at the University of Oxford. My tutoring approach is supportive, structured and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on helping students understand legal concepts clearly, develop strong essay-writing skills, and build confidence in applying the law to problem questions, case analysis and exams.

In my lessons, I usually begin by identifying the student’s goals and areas for improvement. I then use a mixture of clear explanations, discussion, worked examples, essay planning and exam-style practice. I encourage students to think critically and ask questions, while also giving practical guidance on structure, argument, clarity and legal reasoning.

A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs. My lessons are suitable for GCSE, A Level and undergraduate law students, as well as students preparing for law admissions or wanting support with legal essay writing and study skills.

As an Oxford law student, I have experience with demanding legal reading, essay writing, tutorials and exam preparation. I aim to make law feel more approachable while helping students improve their academic technique and confidence.
