About Laura
I am currently a second year university student studying International Business and Spanish at the University of Edinburgh. I have studied Spanish for a number of years now and look forward to moving to Madrid in summer to begin my year abroad. I have achieved high grades throughout my Spanish teaching, including an 8(A*) at GCSE and an A* at A Level. I have found studying Spanish to be an extremely rewarding experience and aim to encourage many students to enjoy the process.
I have previously taught several students during secondary school to help prepare them for their GCSE oral exams. The students I spent an hour a week with, achieved grade 8s at GCSE (A* - after being predicted a 6 - B). Additionally, I spent some time teaching in primary schools to help introduce younger students to the importance of speaking languages. I would therefore like to continue my teaching and help students not only achieve the grades they deserve, but to also encourage the learning of modern foreign languages.

I believe that through increasing confidence in the oral side of a language hugely boosts students grades. I am to improve your competency in the language by introducing new and key phrases of vocabulary, in a fun and repetitive manner, which the students can then use in speaking exams, and then can be used within writing. I also create engaging reading tasks, so that the language can be picked up easily, and then implement memorable tasks that will help to improve grammar.
As I have studied Spanish for a number of years I have developed personal experience in what strategies I believe work and which ones don't. I hope to use these experiences to create a enjoyable yet effective tutoring experience, tailored to your preferred way of studying.
Lessons will be an hour long at £15 - where I will cover new vocabulary alongside reading/grammar/oral tasks to cover all parts of language learning.
