About Isuru
I am a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor committed to helping students build strong mathematical foundations and confidence in their learning. With a background in Business Analysis and data-driven problem-solving, I bring a clear, structured, and supportive approach to every lesson. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to develop genuine understanding, independent thinking, and a positive attitude towards mathematics. My Tutoring Approach
I believe every student learns differently, so my teaching style focuses on clarity, patience, and personalised learning. I begin by identifying each student's strengths, learning style, and areas to improve. From there, I break concepts down into simple steps, use real-world examples, and provide guided practice to build understanding and confidence.
I focus strongly on explaining concepts in multiple ways, practising problem-solving strategies, and developing students’ analytical skills rather than rote memorisation. My lessons are interactive, supportive, and designed to encourage independent thinking and solid foundational knowledge in mathematics.
Lesson Structure
Typical lesson length: 60 minutes
Sessions include:
1. Concept explanation
2. Step-by-step worked examples
3. Practice questions and exam-style problems
4. Review & feedback on progress
5. Short homework or revision tasks (optional)
I can also offer 30-minute booster sessions or 90-minute exam preparation lessons, depending on the student’s needs.
Qualifications & Experience
I am currently a Business Analysis Graduate at Swinburne University of Technology and a Postgraduate student in Secondary Teaching at Australian Catholic University, with a strong academic background in mathematics, logic, and data analysis. I have experience supporting students in mathematics and technology subjects, and I have developed strong communication and problem-solving skills through previous roles in IT support and business analysis.
I use structured lesson plans, practice worksheets, and digital tools when helpful to support students’ learning and confidence.
