About Kirk
I am a 32 year old Father of 2. I was born and bred in Hawkes bay. My background includes working in the Navy for the better part of my 20's and I now work in social services for a maori health provider where I work with Youth in the communities.
My love of music stemmed from an early age, growing up I was surrounded by music. Especially on the marae and occasionally watching my Grandfather and uncles play guitar and sing songs in the garage with the rest of my Family. So I would say my Grandfather was the reason I wanted to learn guitar because I wanted to be just like him. I have my own home studio where I make and record my own stuff as well as doing gigs around town at some of the local bars and pubs.
I myself am still always learning as music is something one can never truly master. There is always something new to learn and music is forever evolving. My musical taste goes all the way back to the 60's right through to todays modern stuff. I enjoy playing country, reggae and all the old school classics. My favourite band of all time is The Eagles.

Lessons will run for approximately 1 hour. Online via zoom or if you live in the Northland - Whangarei area, happy to provide a space to cater to either 1 on 1 or group lessons. Must have your own guitar. We will start with the basics (hand and finger placement) and slowly progress forward at a good pace that is suitable for all who want to learn.
